CIPS came into business on 1 June 2000 in an office upstairs in Springett’s Arcade. The team consisted of 2.5 with Marlene Lynam in the driving seat. Marlene had already been working in local property management for 12 years, starting off as Secretary and then quickly moving into managing clients.

The keys to success in commercial property is all about building relationships and going the extra step. It’s about clear communication, knowing what needs to be done to meet compliance regulations, being professional and taking pride in what you do.

Another key to success is having a strong work ethic. It’s not always about the money, but about looking after people and helping them with their investment property. Success is about keeping people’s confidences and building trust.

The CIPS business has been built solely on referrals, which have come about from serving clients well. In discussing her business philosophy, Marlene made the point:

“Running CIPS is like being in a good marriage. To make it work you must be committed, loyal, have no secrets, know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and be prepared for the long haul.”

Marlene was a finalist in the prestigious 2016 REINSW Awards for Excellence , Commercial Property Manager. Marlene’s stellar reputation is built on 28 years of hard work, dedication, and trust with her clients.

In 2016 Highlands Property purchased CIPS and the team now operates under the one roof on Moss Vale Road, Bowral. Marlene is still driving the commercial property management side, and doing what she loves doing, which is looking after client’s needs.
